Project Accessory

Reality Competition TV Anyone?

I’m usually not a fan of reality tv.  However, reality competition shows I rank a little higher than regular reality TV.  I’ve heard too much about Project Accessory not to set my DVR to catch it.  I’ve missed one episode.  The Project Accessory reviews are mixed.  I guess it is a little rough around the edges – not too surprising.

Why am I going to record Project Accessory?   I’m  watching to see what the jewelry designers in the competition do.  There 7 of the contestants left that make jewelry.  Shea, Brian, Nicolina, David, Nina, Rich and Christine.  Of the 12 designers that started, 8 design jewelry. The first one to go was a jewelry designer.  Let’s face it – don’t most of us who make creative things have that secret desire to be a famous accessory name and have $100,000 to make it happen?!

Show In a Nutshell:  Molly Sims hosts this spin-off of Project Runway where 12 designers compete for $100,000 to start their own fashion accessories line. Judges include: Molly Sims, Kenneth Cole, Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti (major power broker) and Ariel Foxman (In Style Editor).

Project Accessory

Tonight –  Thursday at 9pm (central).  On Lifetime.

Record it.  It will make some good mindless TV.  I’ll watch it with my early morning coffee.

  1. I watch very little tv. But Project Runway and now Project Accessory are at the top of the list. Yes. The create situations that will heighten drama, and sometimes these sort of competitions bring out the worst in people. But what impresses me most is that there is a HUGE talent in these people. They have a very short window of time to make something often from non-standard materials and they always rise to the challenge. That is what makes it exciting to watch and makes me wish that I had known about this. I totally would have tried out! And now I just found out that Melissa Cable has started a blog and a challenge…each week she is going to try to replicate the challenge from the show. A brilliant exercise in creativity!

    Enjoy the day, Miss Tracy.

    • Hi Erin. I too have very few shows I watch and only when the are recorded so I can buzz through as fast as I can. I never watched Project Runway so I don’t have that to compare it to. I am looking forward to the challenges.

Thanks for letting me know about Melissa Cable. I will have to go check it out!

Oh – and you Erin – would be fabulous for the show! Next season?!

  3. Thanks for the heads up! Watched last week’s episode on Lifetime’s website, will have to watch tonight’s episode the same way (no DVR). I love watching inspired people. It’s… inspiring!

    • Wow Mary. I just watched last night’s episode and I don’t know if I could handle the pressure. I could do the jewelry – shoes?! I don’t think so… But it is inspiring.

  4. Hi Bracelet Girl,

I’ve been perusing your blog and finding a lot of beautiful pieces. I especially love the embossed metal bracelets and earrings combined with leather and other materials…..very interesting.
