A few months ago, a magazine editor from German fashion & lifestyle magazine Fur Sie had contacted me about my bracelets. She asked if she could publish a picture of my jewelry in their October issue and mention my blog. I was taken totally by surprise. She sent me links to their website so I could see what the magazine was about since obviously I was not up to speed on German lifestyle magazines. She asked for photos of some of my bracelets asap so they could mock up their issue. I scrambled and sent them a few of my favorite high resolution shots. She thanked me and said they would send me a magazine if it was published. It was a very short exchange and I totally forgot about it.
Today a fat, large envelope from Germany showed up (I thought my husband was ordering from Ebay again) until I saw it was addressed to me. I opened it up and it had two copies of the magazine and a thank you 2012 calendar – In German. They published a short blurb about me and my blog with one of my most pinned photos on Pinterest. Kind of made my afternoon.
Since I don’t sprechen sie deutsch, I had to type the little blurb into Google Translate.
“Really unique jewelry they get when they design it themselves. Seeking inspiration? Then click once on purely makebraceletsblog.com. Here the American Tracy writes about ideas and shows in step-by-step videos, how it’s done”.
Ah German. Schmuck means jewelry!
I’m telling you, if you don’t already, get your “stuff” on Pinterest. It will definitely help you get noticed. I am 99% sure that’s where this editor discovered me.
